It was Rotterdam…

August 10, 2008 – 9:18 am
Yes, after a week of hard cycling I'm back home and here to tell you all about it. As you may remember, myself and two friends were cycling from Dunkirk to Rotterdam. It was originally going to be my DoE Gold exped - but that fell through, so we were just doing it for "fun".

It could be Rotterdam…

August 1, 2008 – 9:00 am
Today, Scouting is 101. It seems strange to thing that a year ago I was at the Jamboree celebrating Scouting's 100th birthday - doesn't time fly?

German Bunker in my Garden

July 22, 2008 – 8:17 pm
Well, not my garden - but someone's garden in Jersey. I came across this blog a week or two ago, and I've found it quite fascinating following the story of it's author who, as the title of the blog suggests, found a German WW2 bunker in his garden - so I thought I'd share it with you folk. Enjoy.

Slovenia and Gilwell 24

July 14, 2008 – 1:25 pm
I'm back from my travels over the past fortnight, but I thought that this time I'd spare you all the usual blow by blow account and instead just give a brief *cough* overview. This is partly because I'm sure you all have better things to do than read a long and rambling blog entry, but mainly because my hands are still red raw from 12 hours or so of belaying at Gilwell 24.

Slovenia

June 30, 2008 – 7:52 pm
I'm off to Slovenia for 9 days tomorrow, on tour with the Oxford Millenium Orchestra. As I've previously mentioned, I've never played with them before - or even met most of them - so hopefully everything will go well and we'll be able to put on some great concerts.

Time To Catch Up

June 25, 2008 – 2:01 pm
As you've probably all come to expect from me by now, I've gone a long time without properly updating my blog. So, once again, I've resolved to compress everything that's happened in the past two months into one blog post.

Download Day

June 17, 2008 – 8:29 pm
I'm aware I haven't posted properly for a while, but I'm home from Uni now so I'll get around to it soon - I promise. However, I wanted to make a quick post about Download Day. In short, Firefox 3 has just been released and Mozilla are going for a world record and trying to get as many downloads as possible in 24 hours. So if you haven't already downloaded Firefox 3, head over to the Firefox website and grab your copy now to help break the record! Naturally, it's completely free.

The Great Eurovision Scandal

May 25, 2008 – 7:26 pm
As I'm sure everyone's aware, it was Eurovision last night - one of the few remaining times when countries can put there political differences aside, have a good sing song and a good laugh. Ok... so 1 our of 3 isn't so bad.

GodTube

May 15, 2008 – 12:47 pm
I came across this site last night (thanks to Reddit), and spent a good hour or so laughing at some of the videos on the site - so I thought I'd share it with you lot. I've embedded perhaps my favourite one after the jump, and then a few links to other ones I found particularly good. Please feel free to post your favourites in the comments - I'd love to see them.

Jimmy Wales and the Wiki Way

May 7, 2008 – 7:45 pm
This afternoon, I went to a talk given by Jimmy Wales. Even if you don't know who Jimmy Wales is, you've no doubt used what Jimmy Wales started 7 years ago - a small project called Wikipedia.
