The Number’s Don’t Lie

Inspired by this post, and driven by a desire to avoid doing any real work I decided to see how my Facebook friends stack up.

Gender Ratio

The first thing I looked at was the ratio of males to females, and it seems I have twice as many male friends on my account as I do female ones. I imagine a large part of this is due to going to a single sex secondary school, but who knows.

The other thing I looked at was the age of my friends (or at least the ones that have a birth date listed on their profile). I’ve plotted them against user ID’s for no other reason than it serves to space them out a bit. I suppose it does show that a lot of my friends all have similar user ID’s and therefore presumably joined up at a similar time.

You can fairly easily see that the majority of my Facebook friends are around 20, but there’s a reasonable spread of ages all the way up to the mid-70′s! Apparently my winning charm and dazzling personality work on people of all ages. What can I say?
